Weld RE-8 Superintendent Dr. Justin Ralston had a blunt message for families on October 2 after parents began complaining about poor food quality in the district’s schools.
“The challenges we have had recently with food service and what some of our students have been receiving are unacceptable, and we absolutely need to be doing better,” Ralston said in a statement.
His acknowledgment came after weeks of parent complaints on social media about students coming home hungry, food running out and meals that didn’t match posted menus.
