New Greeley History Museum Exhibit Shares Mexican American History

The exhibit tells the story of how Greeley’s Mexican American residents have shaped the city for more than a century. Through photographs, interviews and community artifacts, visitors will experience the voices and memories of the people who helped shape Greeley. The Mexican American History Project of Greeley was formed in 2021. The group collected and preserved local Mexican American history. Over four years, committee members interviewed 44 community residents to record their stories in their own words.

The resulting book, “Our History, Our Voice: The Mexican American History Project of Greeley,” was published this fall and is available at the museum gift shop. It highlights important moments in Greeley’s past, from early sugar beet workers to the Bracero Program and beyond.
