Man charged with vehicular homicide, DUI in pedestrian hit-and-run in Weld County

DENVER (KDVR) — A man is facing multiple charges, including DUI, after detectives said he hit and killed a pedestrian, then left the scene of the crash without reporting it to authorities over the weekend.

On Sunday, around 1:42 a.m., Colorado State Patrol investigated a crash near Weld County Road 60.5 and Weld County Road 47, near the Greeley-Weld Airport, where a pedestrian identified as 20-year-old Talia Rodriguez was hit and killed.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office told FOX31 that the driver was identified as 18-year-old Jose Temoxtle. He was arrested and charged with:

  • Vehicular homicide-DUI
  • Leaving scene of accident involving death
  • Failure to report accident-call police (two counts)
  • DUI
  • DUI per se
