Larimer County to Honor Veterans With Operation Green Light, Invites Residents to Participate November 4–11

The Larimer County Board of Commissioners has declared November 4–11, 2025, as Operation Green Light for Veterans. This event recognizes the service of veterans. Operation Green Light started in New York in 2021 and has since become a national initiative. It is supported by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers. At a recent meeting, Larimer County Veteran Service staff discussed the program and the support available to veterans in the area.

During the week, the Larimer County Administrative Services Building in Fort Collins and the Loveland Campus building will display green LED lights. This is meant to show support for veterans. Commissioners Jody Shadduck-McNally and Kristin Stephens encouraged community members and businesses to participate by using green lights at their homes or businesses.

The county notes that veterans often continue to serve in the community after their military careers. Many join volunteer groups, work in local government, or contribute to businesses. Each year, about 200,000 service members leave the military and may face challenges during this transition…
