Bear at Weld County sanctuary enjoys state’s weather before winter

DENVER (KDVR) —  A rescued bear at a Weld County animal sanctuary enjoyed Colorado’s nice weather this week — even using the wind to her advantage.

With the winter season approaching, The Wild Animal Sanctuary in the town of Keenesburg said some of its rescued bears are already in hibernation — but not Zelda.

In a video provided by The Wild Animal Sanctuary, people can see Zelda, a female Syrian brown bear, swinging on her two paws, appreciating the outdoors before her long winter nap.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary is a 33,000-acre refuge for more than 900 lions, tigers, bears, wolves and other rescued large carnivores. According to the sanctuary, Zelda currently lives in a large acreage natural habitat within the refuge along with its other bears…
