Former Loveland officer found guilty of civil rights violation

DENVER — A former Loveland police officer was found guilty on Tuesday of a federal civil rights charge.

Dylan Miller, 30, is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl while on duty. He was convicted of a federal depravation of rights charge on Tuesday. He also faces separate Larimer County charges, including first-degree kidnapping, sexual assault, official oppression and official misconduct. His next court appearance in that case is set for Dec. 8, according to court records.

Miller was arrested in November 2023 after a teen reported that he approached her and a friend at North Lake Park after hours in August. According to investigators, he sent her male friend away and questioned the teen about being out past curfew.
