After audit flags financial issues, Johnstown gives YMCA through March to correct errors

JOHNSTOWN, Colo. — The Town of Johnstown will work with the YMCA of Northern Colorado to correct financial reporting problems after a forensic audit found misreported revenue, undocumented expenses and other accounting errors that left the YMCA owing money to the town.

Town officials commissioned the audit after concerns emerged about how public funds were being used to support the Johnstown YMCA.

According to the audit, more than $55,000 linked to the Johnstown YMCA “lacked proper documentation or were misallocated,” town officials said in a statement online…
