The Weld County Board of Commissioners has approved the county’s 2026 budget. This follows a three-reading process that began earlier this month. The budget sets expenses at just under $703 million. The county plans to keep spending steady and reduce some departmental budgets to manage costs.
The 2026 budget focuses on several areas. These include funding public works projects to maintain roads and infrastructure, investing in county employees to meet service needs, and supporting the expansion of the new judicial center. The county will fund these projects without raising the mill levy. The mill levy will remain at 15.956 for 2026, the same as in 2025. This rate is below the state cap of 22.038 mills.
Property owners in Weld County will see this mill levy on their tax bills in January 2026. Tax bills will also include levies from other entities, such as schools, libraries, and fire districts.
