Colorado police remove bear trapped in car

Police in Colorado responded to a call about a bear that had broken and entered into a car and could not get itself out last month.

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office shared details of the incident on social media alongside frankly hilarious bodycam footage of the cops trying to figure out how to get the bear out.

At last, following the incident, the Sheriff’s Office declared the “Bear-icade Safety Resolved.”

“LCSO recently responded to a vehicle trespass in the foothills. The caller reported that a bear had broken into his car… and the furry bandit was still trapped in there. The first arriving deputy confirmed the claws for concern: a bear was, indeed, inside the vehicle (and he wasn’t thrilled about the situation either),” the police wrote on Facebook. “Backup arrived and the team took a tactical paws to make sure they were prebeared for any situation. In lieu of bear spray, they kept pepperballs at the ready in case things got hairy. After creating distance with a sophisticated handle-release mechanism, they opened the door and freed Yogi. The owners were very appreciative, despite the damage inflicted by their clawstrophobic visitor. It’s unclear what exactly motivated this late-night visit – there wasn’t any food stored in the car. Either way, it serves as an unfurtunate reminder: always lock your vehicle to keep out bad guys and bears alike!”

In the video, officers can be heard interacting with the car’s owner and with one another…
