With the help of The Picklr Fort Collins, students across Poudre School District will get the chance to learn pickleball in their physical education classes. As part of their grand opening on Nov. 22, owners of The Picklr Fort Collins donated 2,500 new pickleballs to the school district, which amounts to about 40 new pickleballs per school.
“This generous donation will significantly enhance our physical education programs, allowing us as teachers across the district to successfully integrate pickleball into our schools,” says Makenzie Stevenson, a PE teacher at Olander Elementary in Fort Collins who accepted the donation on behalf of PSD. The gift “allows us to introduce the sport to students, but also allows us to maintain high-quality physical education by easily replacing broken and worn-out pickleballs we might already have,” she says.
