So, Windsor is Colorado’s New Boomtown?

The Town of Windsor was founded in 1890, though it dates back to the 1870s. If things keep going the way they seem to be going, the smaller Colorado town of Windsor may  become the City of Windsor. For those that live in Windsor, the news is good and bad: it’s great for the economy, but bad for keeping that “small town” feel.

Our radio stations broadcast from the corner of 6th Street and Main Street in Downtown Windsor. I, myself, have worked here for nearly 30 years as of 2025, and can attest to how the town has grown over the decades. Where once there was a “sleepy” little town that had a golf course on the western edge of town, today Windsor bustles with many more people living there, more businesses happening, and more golfing with four courses.

What Makes Windsor Colorado’s ‘Boomtown?’
