CHSAA’s all-state boys cross country team from the Front Range

Niwot’s Hunter Robbie, the Daily Camera runner of the year, and Mead’s Josh Knight, the Times-Call honoree, led a group of 31 local boys that graced CHSAA’s all-state cross country team.

Following the Cougars’ monster win in the Class 5A state race, raking in 28 points while second-place Erie scored a 141, it came as no surprise that Niwot coach Kelly Christensen won 5A coach of the year, a feat that he doubled up with on the girls’ side.

The Cougars rocked the top 10 with five boys on the podium, four of which made the case for CHSAA’s first team: Robbie (second), Quinn Sullivan (third), Jude Ritzenhein (sixth) and Ryder Keeton (seventh). Gabriel Marshall (10th) followed suit on second team, as did Garrett Sherrard (35th) and Rocco Culpepper (37th) on honorable mention.

Erie enjoyed a second-team nomination for Reid O’Brien (14th), while Brett Michalski (15th), Micah Anderson (34th) and Sam Snyder (42nd) rounded out their representation on honorable mention. Boulder’s Lucas Wik nabbed a second-team spot at 12th overall…
