Two indicted in alleged home solar contractor scheme

SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, Colo. (KREX) – Two men are suspected of operating a home solar contractor scheme, in which they take payments from clients to install the system but never complete the project.

Nathan Billmaier and Scot Birrell are facing 11 counts of fraud involving clients across Colorado, including those in San Miguel, Eagle, Park, Prowers, Summit, and Weld counties. Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser announced the indictments on Thursday.

Birrell is in custody at the Denver Downtown Detention Center, while Billmaier is at large. If anyone has information about his whereabouts, call local law enforcement.
