Driver taken into custody after evading deputies on Christmas Day: BCSO

DENVER (KDVR) — A man allegedly driving more than 100 miles per hour through southwest Fort Collins, Loveland and unincorporated Larimer County on Thursday was taken into custody after crashing on State Highway 287.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said it first received a 911 call at about 3 p.m. from a man “in crisis” who was driving recklessly. The agency said it also received multiple 911 calls from citizens reporting a vehicle for endangering the public and driving more than 100 mph.

“The driver was suspected of possible impairment and believed to have caused a crash,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement provided to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

LCSO deputies were able to locate the vehicle in Loveland and attempted to stop it using tire spikes, however the driver was able to continue and they lost sight of the vehicle at that time and did not pursue it, according to the agency…
