Yesterday afternoon, Longmont Fire and the Boulder County Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) team responded to a leak in a truck south of Harvest Junction in the 100-200 block of Ken Pratt Boulevard. At 1:58 p.m., Longmont Fire was dispatched to a medical call in the area: a semi-truck driver opened their vehicle’s trailer to make a delivery and discovered a leak in one of three drums.
After further investigation, City of Longmont Public Information Officer Rogelio Mares said that the Boulder County Hazmat team plugged the leak. Mares said that the truck and drums are being turned over to an environmental vendor. The drums were determined to contain Tanner gas, which is a corrosion preventer and as a rust inhibitor.
