A five-year-old child died in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred in the afternoon of December 29 in Greeley. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., Greeley police officers arrived on scene at the intersection of Highway 85 and 22nd Street. Investigators say a Ford Focus with a 24-year-old female driver was traveling northbound on Highway 85 and attempted to make a left turn onto 22nd Street. The Focus was struck on the passenger side by a southbound Tesla driven by a 51-year-old female. The two vehicles spun into a semi that was stopped at the intersection.
First responders initiated life-saving measures on the child, who was a passenger in the Focus. The child was transported to Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver in critical condition. The child later died from her injuries and her name will later be released by the Weld County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the Focus had minor injuries from the accident and no other drivers or passengers involved in the accident were injured…
