Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak: The Minivan Goes Off The Grid

The Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak Concept made a surprise and very welcome appearance at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show after debuting earlier this fall at Overland Expo Mountain West in Loveland, Colorado. And honestly, this is one of the most interesting concepts Chrysler has shown in years—not because it’s wild or unrealistic, but because it feels achievable.

Chrysler’s design studio took the brand’s award-winning minivan and used its most underrated strengths—space, comfort, and all-wheel drive (AWD)—as a canvas for the growing van-life and overlanding crowd. The result is a lifted, trail-capable Pacifica that slots neatly into a niche nobody else is really addressing: family-friendly overlanding without the bulk or cost of a full-size van or body-on-frame (BoF) SUV.

At its core, the Grizzly Peak concept builds off the Pacifica Limited AWD. The suspension is lifted 2.75 inches up front and 2.5 inches in the rear, enough to meaningfully improve ground clearance without ruining ride quality or drivability. Wrapped around 18-inch Foreshadow wheels are 31-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires—real tires, not show-only rubber—which immediately signal this thing is meant to leave pavement behind.

The exterior mods continue that theme. A Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform sits on the roof, joined by TYRI auxiliary LED lighting and an ARB retractable awning—gear that overlanders already trust and buy today. Baja Designs LP4 fog pods add forward lighting for trails, while protective lower-body wrap and Mopar splash guards help keep trail rash in check. Nothing here feels far-fetched, and that’s what makes this concept so compelling…
