“Come See Me in the Good Light,” a documentary about the late Boulder County-based poet and Colorado Poet Laureate Andrea Gibson , was nominated for an Academy Award on Thursday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced.
Gibson lived in Longmont, where much of the documentary was filmed, and in September 2023 was appointed Colorado’s Poet Laureate by Gov. Jared Polis.
Known nationally for poetry that addressed politics, vulnerability and mortality with humor and directness, Gibson was also a fixture in Colorado’s literary community…
