DENVER (KDVR) — Officials have wrapped up their emergency response after a verbal disaster declaration was issued in January for an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Weld County.
The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment said state health, agriculture and emergency response officials stopped their emergency response over the weekend after no human cases of avian influenza were found.

This comes after a presumptive positive for avian flu at a commercial egg layer operation in Weld County. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, the State Emergency Operation Center and Weld County responded and took several precautions.
