Weld County bomb threat unfounded after investigation: Sheriff’s office

DENVER (KDVR) — An area in Weld County was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat before it was deemed to be unfounded, authorities said.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on Wednesday afternoon that the area is safe, there is no ongoing threat to the public and residents can return to their homes.

Around 10:09 a.m., deputies responded to the 11000 block of Yosemite in the Longview Manufactured Home Community after someone reported that a man was standing next to a shed and was waiting for police because he had a bomb in his backpack, according to a social media post from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.
