The mid-90s around Colorado were heydays for craft beer and fun. Part of that fun was Coopersmith’s Poolside in Fort Collins. The city’s first brewpub opened a companion bar, a pool hall, that would also serve their craft beer.
When Did Coopersmith’s Poolside First Open in Old Town Fort Collins?
When Coopersmith’s opened in 1989, it was a huge hit in The Choice City and Northern Colorado; folks came from all around to grab some great beer and great food. The success had them opening Coopersmith’s Poolside, across the alley, in 1993. The joint was fun for the student crowd and adults alike; great pool tables, food, and that Coopersmith’s beer.
It was a great date-night place; a place to gather with friends/family. When my brother retired to Fort Collins after being in the Army, we’d often hit up Poolside for “Brother vs. Brother” pool tournaments; I’m looking forward to restarting them. The new Poolside sounds like it’s going to be…..
