For now, the space remains home to Birriería Doña María, which is still operating while the Lobos proposal winds its way through review.
On Feb. 13, What Now Denver reported that a food-plan review filed with the City of Boulder lists Lobos at 1950 Main St. The outlet identified Marcel Marin as the owner and noted that the Lobos site is currently labeled “coming soon.”
What Lobos Is Promising
The restaurant’s online presence, including its official site and public social cover image, leans hard into brightly colored, Tajín-rimmed cocktails and a “vibrant sports zone” pitched as a hangout for family and friends. According to the Lobos Cocina Bar site, the operator plans to pair authentic Mexican dishes with an energetic bar program, although specific menu items and hours have not yet been posted.
Current Tenant Still Open
The 1950 Main St. address is still listed on Birriería Doña María’s official site as its Longmont location, indicating the birriería remains in business while Lobos works through permitting. The site’s menus and online ordering links include the address and hours, suggesting the space has not yet been vacated.

According to the Downtown Longmont Development Authority, Main Street’s lineup of bars and restaurants is a key focus of local development efforts. Another full-service Mexican restaurant with a bar could expand late-night options and tighten competition among locally owned spots along the corridor.
