FORT COLLINS, Colo. — After at least three new controversial electronic billboards have popped up in Fort Collins, Colorado State University says it is pausing the installation of any more.
Since summer 2025, three 11-foot-by-22-foot electronic billboards have gone up on CSU property, where they face outward toward major city streets, catching the eyes of thousands of residents every day and bringing in revenue for the university.
The billboards are visibly prominent along portions of Prospect Road and Shields Street, clashing with a city code that prohibits such signs in city limits. CSU is located on state property, though, so it’s not subject to the city’s code…
