Global home furnishings retailer IKEA is preparing to expand its Colorado footprint with a new small-format store planned in Fort Collins, marking the brand’s first location in Northern Colorado. The company announced the project as part of its broader U.S. growth strategy, which prioritizes accessibility and proximity to customers rather than relying exclusively on traditional warehouse-style destinations.
According to 9News, the 64,000-square-foot IKEA will be located at the Front Range Village Shopping Center at 4250 Corbett Drive, and will be significantly smaller than the company’s typical big-box locations.
Despite challenging external factors, including increased inflation and waning consumer confidence, IKEA U.S. reported $5.3 billion in total sales, including $1.9 billion in ecommerce in FY25, according to the announcement.
