Colorado snowboarders bring ‘Olympic bromance’ home after Milan-Cortina games

When Chase Blackwell and Jake Pates first began competitive snowboarding around age 10, the Olympics seemed a far-off possibility.

At the time, just 16 years ago, the two Colorado athletes were simply hitting the slopes for the love of the game. Over the past two weeks, the old friends out of Longmont and Eagle reconnected in Livigno, Italy, as part of Team USA at the Milan-Cortina Games, documenting their “Olympic bromance” together for all the world to see on Instagram.

They ensured their fans would see the lighter side of fierce competition through bits like, “A very wholesome best friend quiz until someone has to survive in the wilderness.”…
