Colorado siblings compete as teammates in 2026 Paralympic Games

COLORADO, USA — The 2026 Paralympic Games open this weekend in Milan-Cortina, and a pair of siblings from Colorado will be competing on the ski slopes, together, as teammates.

“We both started skiing about as soon as we could walk,” said Spenser Gustafson, 18. He and his sister Meg, 16, grew up skiing in Minnesota and visiting Colorado often. During the pandemic, their family moved to Colorado full-time and the kids’ skiing only got more competitive.

“We are both alpine ski racers. I have competed able bodied since I was little,” Meg said. “Just in the past couple of years, we have started getting into the para side. Since I’m visually impaired, Spencer is my guide, so he skis in front of me in all the courses.”…
