For years, we have endured what seems like endless construction on Interstate 25 in Northern Colorado for the addition of the Northern Colorado Express Lanes. This stretch of road on Interstate 25 starts in Berthoud, going north into Fort Collins, and ends just past Prospect Road.
Free Period for I-25 Express Lanes Is Ending
While the express lanes in the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 25 have been operational for quite a few months, the period of free travel in these lanes will soon come to an end.
On April 7, 2026, fees to use the Northern Colorado Express Lanes on Interstate 25 will be introduced, and they won’t be cheap to use. Of course, as it is with all of the toll lanes in the state of Colorado, the fees will depend on the time of day you choose to use these express lanes.
