Starting in 2026, Longmont’s waste collection rules are changing. Two key updates:

Cart lids must close completely. No bags, boxes, or branches sticking out. If your cart is too full, you can:
- Sign up for compost collection.
- Request a larger or extra cart (extra fee for trash/compost).
- Drop off recyclables at the Longmont Recycling Center.
- Call 303-651-8416 if your lid is broken — the city will fix it.

Alley carts must be brought in after pickup. Put them out no earlier than 4 PM the day before and bring them in by 8 PM the day after collection. If you have mobility issues…..
