Cobblestone Corner, located at 349 Massachusetts Ave., at the corner of Fourth Street, provides a unique community shopping experience in downtown Berthoud. The shop is bursting with treasures, from antiques, handmade items, original artwork, jewelry, vintage second-hand goods and furniture to homemade foods and plants. Over 90 booth spaces are currently rented by individual sellers, the majority of whom are local to Berthoud.
The store also occupies a historic space that is bursting with history: the 1906 designated landmark, known as the Masonic Lodge Building.
The entire upstairs of the building was occupied by the Lodge, while the downstairs originally housed a bakery and a furniture store. Over the decades, the downstairs space hosted a variety of tenants, including a bowling alley, dance hall and an antique auction space. If you look at the side of the building on Fourth Street, names and dates are etched into the building from when high school students waited in line for weekly dances, with some dating back to the 1920s.
When the building was purchased in the early 2000s, the new owners rented parts of the building to several tenants, with the downstairs space eventually becoming a vintage goods and antique shop, which today is known as Cobblestone Corner…
