Longmont Juvenile May Be Tried For Murder Of Step-Brother; Suspect Found With Glock 23

A Longmont juvenile who was arrested as a suspect in the death of his step-brother last week may be facing first-degree murder charges. Last Wednesday, the Longmont Police responded to the scene at 3:53 p.m. in the 4500 block of Redmond Drive at the Cloverbasin Village apartments. They found a deceased juvenile in the apartment and the suspect had left the scene. The suspect was later found and apprehended while holding a Glock 23.

The suspect’s mother and victim’s father said the family has no firearms and they were unaware that the juvenile suspect had possession of a gun. The mother received a text message from one of her sons telling her the two step-brothers were fighting. When she returned home, she saw one of the boys was injured and called 911.

Limited information is available on the case because both the victim and suspect are minors, including their names and ages. The 20th Judicial District is still investigating the case and has yet to determine whether charges will be brought in juvenile court or the boy will be tried as an adult…
