Unmanned Drone Electrical Inspections Begin Today In Longmont; Expected Completion By Apr 10

The City of Longmont is utilizing an unmanned drone to complete inspections of electrical equipment beginning today, March 23. The inspections are part of the city’s maintenance program and the drone flights are expected to be completed by Friday, April 10 at the latest.

The flights will be above the utility right-of-way and there is a map on the city’s website outlining the flight patterns. The flight area is within the bounds of Vermillion Road to the north, Quail Road/Airport Road intersection to the south, North 75th Street between Nelson Road and Colo 66 to the west, and just east of Highway 66/Erfert Road intersection to the east…
