On Saturday morning, Greeley Police officers fatally shot a 20-year-old man after he charged at them with a knife. The incident occurred at approximately 9:20 a.m. in the 5700 block of 20th Street in Greeley. Officers were responding to a report about a suspicious man running east on 20th Street with a knife. The officers attempted to block the suspects path and he charged at them with his knife. Greeley officers discharged their weapons in response and one officer was injured during the incident.
Greeley police officers attempted life saving measures on the suspect before he was transported to a hospital and later died.
The suspect allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old brother at his grandparents’ home in the 5400 block of 24th Street before the interaction with Greeley Police. The brother was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead. The officer who was injured during the incident was transported to a local hospital and released with minor injuries…
