The statewide bus system has become a depended upon resource for hundreds of thousands of Coloradans, but the future of Bustang is still riding on temporary funding and coming up against a FY27 sunset of necessary dollars.
Following the announcement of a projected $28 million budget shortfall this month, state transportation officials told CPR News in an email that they are not planning to ask lawmakers for a new dedicated funding stream as the state continues to navigate budget concerns.
