Quick response limits damage, prevents spread to living space
Firefighters in Fort Collins contained a garage fire Sunday evening, preventing flames from spreading into a nearby duplex and protecting surrounding homes.
According to the Poudre Fire Authority, crews responded around 5:58 p.m. on March 29 to the 1700 block of Pecan Street after multiple 911 calls reported heavy flames and concerns that someone may have entered the home to rescue a dog.
Fire crews arrived within minutes and quickly began an aggressive attack on the fire. Engine 2 and Engine 4 crews knocked down the main blaze and kept it confined to the garage. While the residential portion of the duplex was spared fire damage, smoke affected parts of the home…
