JBS strike ends with employees returning to work on Tuesday; negotiations set for Thursday and Friday

GREELEY, Colo. β€” Thousands of workers are set to return to their jobs on Tuesday at one of the nation’s largest beef processing plants in Greeley after a three-week strike.

About 3,800 employees at the JBS plant walked off the job March 16, calling for higher wages and safer working conditions. The workers, represented by United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 7, are now ending the strike and heading back to work while negotiations are scheduled to resume later this week.

For weeks, JBS has said it put forward an offer that includes higher pay, a pension and benefits. However, union leaders argue the proposal does not go far enough, particularly amid rising costs of living and ongoing safety concerns inside the plant…
