Although the Town of Berthoud won’t limit the height of new construction on Mountain Avenue to two stories, petition organizers felt it was critically important to spread the word about preserving Berthoud’s small-town character and charm.
“We are glad that our petition was able to achieve the goal of creating public awareness about new developments and are hopeful that Berthoud residents will continue to pay attention to what is happening in our community,” Leigh Jacobs said. Jacobs helped start the petition with Jessica Higgins and Becky Dittmer. “Our petition to limit the height of buildings along Mountain Avenue was sparked by concerns over proposed development.”
Jacobs, Higgins and Dittmer created the petition in opposition to a proposed multi-family apartment complex to be located at the northwest corner of Mountain Avenue and Berthoud Parkway.
