Northern Colorado psilocybin mushroom lab forging a path in the ‘regulated realm’

BERTHOUD, Colo. — Nearly three years after Colorado legalized psilocybin mushrooms, one northern Colorado business is helping supply licensed healing centers as the state’s psychedelic therapy industry continues to develop.

Lost Garden Labs and Therapeutics, which opened last year in Berthoud, is working with licensed healing centers that offer psilocybin-assisted therapy to Coloradans seeking alternative mental health treatments. The company is part of a growing industry that emerged after Colorado became the second state in the country, after Oregon, to legalize psilocybin mushrooms for personal use and use through healing centers. Democratic Gov. Jared Polis signed the law in May 2023.
