Accidental sparks ignited the wildfire that burned north of Carter Lake the afternoon of May 11, investigators say.
The Sedona Hills Fire started about 3 p.m. and prompted mandatory evacuations for more than 700 contacts in the area west of Loveland in unincorporated Larimer County. The fire was declared 100% contained and evacuations were lifted in the early evening after the fire burned 12.2 acres, according to a Larimer County Sheriff’s Office news release.
