Boca Raton’s Town Center mall could replace former Sears with homes, hotel, shopping

BOCA RATON, Fla. — A mixed-use development with homes, a hotel, restaurants, shops and more is proposed for the Town Center mall in Boca Raton.

Simon Property Group has plans to redevelop about 32 acres roughly between Glades Road and St. Andrews Boulevard with an eight-story hotel, a seven-story, 374-unit residential building, and 140,000 square feet of shops and restaurants, according to city documents.

Currently, the former Sears building and a parking lot occupy the space Simon wants to turn “into a transformative, vibrant, walkable and high-density environment where residents and visitors can live, work, play, stay and shop within a single, cohesive campus.”…
