Four theft cases, $9,100 in goods: Fort Lauderdale woman jailed in Palm Beach County

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — From beauty aisles to tool displays to kitchen fixtures, investigators say a Broward County woman turned Palm Beach County retailers into a one-stop shopping spree without making it to the checkout line.

Leeanna Plau, 23, of Fort Lauderdale, is facing a series of theft-related charges after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators linked her to four separate retail theft cases involving Ulta Beauty, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Home Depot stores across the county in late 2025. Authorities allege the thefts involved more than $9,100 worth of merchandise.

One of the cases stems from a Nov. 11 theft at an Ulta Beauty store in Wellington. According to investigators, surveillance video showed Plau and another woman entering the store, selecting merchandise and leaving without paying. Deputies said Plau placed various beauty products and three high-value hair appliances into a shopping bag before exiting the store. The stolen merchandise was valued at $1,873.89. Investigators said one Dyson Airwrap styling device worth $649.99 was recovered after it fell to the ground as the suspects fled to a waiting vehicle…
