Man with 2 pending felony cases and GPS monitor accused of driving car into canal during chase in Broward, records show

PLANTATION, Fla. — Darius Parrish had two pending felony cases in Broward County when police officers arrested him on Monday night after a police chase that included him driving into a shallow canal in Plantation, records show.

Police officers were searching for a suspect who was wearing a blue Nike shirt and blue jeans and released a be-on-the-look-out, or BOLO, alert on Monday night before the chase, according to police scanner traffic.

“Plantation PD assisted Sunrise and Lauderhill PD in the attempted apprehension of a fleeing burglary suspect,” a police officer wrote, according to the arrest report, which listed his last known location as Northwest 114 Avenue and West Sunrise Boulevard…
