Delray Beach Man To Spend Weekends In Jail After DUI Guilty Plea

Robert Forchette of Sherwood Boulevard in Delray Beach, according to an arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, was found asleep behind the wheel of his car at Glades Road and Encina Lane on January 9th. The car, according to police, was in a lane of traffic at a traffic light — the light cycled multiple times. Forchette later refused to submit to a breath alcohol test. He was charged with DUI, DUI Refusal, and possession of an open container in his vehicle. Police allege that they found an open can of beer.

Fast forward to now. Forchette just entered guilty pleas to the DUI and DUI refusal charges. The open container charge was dropped. In exchange for the plea, a judge ordered Forchette to spend 30 days in the Palm Beach County Jail. He is allowed to serve his time on weekends and long weekends — and he is allowed to serve every other weekend.

Forchette is also sentenced to DUI school, 12 months of probation, and will have an interlock device on his vehicle for two years. The device only unlocks the vehicle when the driver proves there is no breath alcohol present…
