JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Florida Highway Patrol trooper arrested a 22-year-old woman Friday night after clocking her vehicle at 117 mph in a 65-mph zone on Interstate 295 southbound in Jacksonville.
The Deerfield Beach woman was taken into custody just before 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.
News4JAX is not naming the woman because she is facing misdemeanor charges.
What the trooper observed
The trooper was traveling southbound on the Buckman Bridge when a grey Kia K4 rapidly closed in from behind. Using a radar device, the trooper initially clocked the vehicle at 95 mph. The driver briefly slowed before accelerating again after passing the bridge…
