Boca Raton Woman Driving Ferrari Charged With DUI, Psilocybin Possession After Yacht Party

The car belonged to her passenger who police say was significantly intoxicated, slurring his speech and struggling to walk. He told officers he let Kaine drive his car instead of her own. The other driver and a Sanctuary security officer both identified Kaine as the driver, with the guard reporting he saw her climb out of the driver’s seat after the crash. Officers wrote in the arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com that Kaine had bloodshot, glassy eyes, was swaying and smelled of alcohol. She performed poorly on roadside sobriety exercises, according to the report, and told officers she’d had “a few glasses of wine.” Police also noted what appeared to be spilled wine on her dress.

Then came the gummies. From the back of the patrol car, Kaine allegedly volunteered that people at the boat party weren’t doing drugs, just eating and drinking. But an inventory of the Ferrari allegedly turned up a clear bag with two orange gummies on the driver’s seat and a black container of red gummies in the driver’s door pocket. The passenger told police the gummies were “shrooms.” At the police station, the orange gummies, weighing 8 grams, field-tested positive for psilocin, and the red gummies, weighing 92.1 grams, tested positive for psilocybin. Kaine refused to provide a breath sample, even after being read Florida’s implied consent warnings. Psilocin is listed as a psychedelic.

Kaine is charged with felony possession of psilocybin, DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to testing. She was also cited for careless driving and a lane violation. After being medically cleared at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, she was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail, where bond was set at a combined $6,250. She is due in court Nov. 30 in Delray Beach…
