Florida Woman Who Had Both Legs Amputated After Drunken Crash Confronts Driver at Sentencing: ‘I Do Not Forgive Her’

Shana Soto admitted to being drunk behind the wheel of her car in November 2021, and she also tested positive for other substances like cocaine and THC that day

A Florida woman who lost the lower part of both of her legs after a car crash in 2021 told the driver who hit her that she does not forgive her, according to a report.

The confrontation took place on Friday during the sentencing hearing for Shana Soto, the driver who admitted to being drunk behind the wheel of her car in November 2021, local ABC affiliate WPLG reported .

Soto tested positive for multiple substances in her system on the day of the crash, including cocaine, THC, and alcohol.

“I am truly sorry because of the choice that I made to get behind the wheel,” she said in court, WPLG reported.

Soto hit a curb and drove onto the sidewalk, where one of her victims, Ana Verastegui, had been dining outdoors with her fiancé at the time.

At the court hearing, Verastegui, who was thrown 10 feet from her seat when the car hit her, confronted Soto after listening to her apologize for her actions.
