Reggae Roots Jamaican Restaurant, a popular dining spot known for its authentic Jamaican flavors, successfully passed a follow-up food inspection one day after being cited for multiple violations.
On January 18, 2024, the Fort Lauderdale-based eatery, located at 4370 N Federal Hwy in Broward County, faced a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.
This initial inspection resulted in five high-priority violations, one intermediate violation, and three basic violations.
Notably, the high-priority violations included issues such as the improper storage of raw chicken over ready-to-eat peppers and the use of nonfood-grade bags for direct food contact.
Despite these setbacks, Reggae Roots Jamaican Restaurant swiftly addressed the concerns.
A follow-up inspection on January 19 showed the restaurant meeting inspection standards with no violations observed. This turnaround emphasizes the restaurant’s commitment to food safety and quality.
