71-year-old Bertha Yalter is facing several charges, including attempted murder
A Florida woman is facing several charges after she allegedly tried to kill her husband of over 50 years when he received a postcard from his ex-girlfriend he dated before marrying her.
Officials responded to a home in North Miami Beach on Sunday and located the victim in “extremely fragile” condition, according to a police report obtained by FOX 13 .
The man told officers that his wife, 71-year-old Bertha Yalter, attempted to smother him with a pillow after he received a postcard from a woman he dated six decades ago.
The victim had several bruises and open lacerations on both arms and his stomach area, police said. He also had open bite marks that were bleeding.
Yalter allegedly admitted that she attacked her husband, according to the report. Police were also able to obtain video of the attack, Local 10 reported.
