According to Wired reporting in January of 2024, 2023 saw mass layoffs in the gaming industry, with 1/3 of developers being affected by layoffs.

And now another technology company is closing a Florida facility and laying off dozens of employees.

About Corsair Gaming, Inc.: According to the company’s website, it is a “leading global developer and manufacturer of high-performance gear and technology for gamers, content creators, and PC enthusiasts.”

The company is headquartered in California and has over 2,400 employees.

Employees on Indeed give the company 2.7 out of 5 stars. Some said pay and benefits were good, but others said that production demands and workload were high.

The Florida Closure And Layoffs: According to a Warn Notice dated February 1, 2024, Chief Human Resource Officer Peter Hilliard noted that the company would be closing its Origin PC facility in Miami and laying off 55 employees, who did not have bumping rights and were not part of a union.
