Scooter driver killed in hit-and-run in Hollywood

A man riding a scooter was killed in Hollywood early Tuesday morning after another driver crashed into him from behind, ejecting him.

The driver of a white Honda Civic who hit the scooter shortly before 5 a.m. in the area of South Park Road and Pembroke Road drove off after the crash, Hollywood Police said.

The car is believed to have damage on the hood, the front right side of the bumper and the passenger mirror, the department said in a news release Wednesday. Surveillance video in the area recorded the car fleeing the scene.

Hollywood Police have not released the name of the scooter driver or additional information.
