Delray Beach, FL’s Ruven’s Restaurant shut down after 11 violations were found

Delray Beach’s Ruven’s Restaurant, located at 13800 Jog Road, had to shut down for a couple of days recently. Why? Well, it turns out health inspectors paid a visit and found some unwelcome guests – roaches!

According to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation report, an inspection originating from a complaint was conducted on June 18 and the state authorities discovered 11 violations, including two categorized as high priority at the Palm Beach County establishment.

Live roaches were observed during an inspection. State records revealed that approximately 10 were found inside the wheels of drawers under the flat top unit on the cook line in the kitchen.

Additionally, around 8 live roaches were seen inside the wheels of the cook line flip-top units, while 3 live roaches were spotted in a gap at the expo window above the cook line flip-top units.

Besides that, the inspector’s note showed that one live roach was found on the ground under a cook line flip-top unit and another one behind a pipe located directly behind a 2-burner low-top stove under the hood in the kitchen.
